1890

In 1890, some 120 years ago, a new small business in the graphic industry is been founded in Izegem, Belgium. The name of the company is at that time: DRUKKERIJ STROBBE GEBROEDERS (Aloïs, Cyriel and Henri Strobbe)

1890 – 1914/18

Before World War I, Strobbe focuses on commercial print for other businesses (especially the well-known shoe & brush industry in Izegem) combined with the publishing and printing of some successful sport magazines.

1918 - 1940/45

In the twenties, Strobbe focuses more on business documents, especially on auto copy paper for the accounting department.

1945-1968

After World War II, Strobbe experiences a period of strong growth, still focussing on business documents. During this period in the company history, Strobbe transforms from a letterpress-printing company to a pioneer offset-printing company for business forms.
The surface of the company is largely expanded, including new buildings in 1947 and between 1966 and 1968. The first building being used for the offices, the administration and the archive at present and the second one is the current production hall on two levels.

1969-1985

Strobbe focuses more and more on rotary printing instead off sheet offset printing. These rotary presses are mainly used for business forms, especially auto copy paper.

1985

Besides the printing activities, Strobbe opens in 1907 its first retail shop for office supplies. In 1985 the second shop, in Ghent, is opened. Afterwards new shops are being opened in Bruges (1987), in Melsbroek (previously in Vilvoorde in 1988), in Deurne (1994), in Kortrijk (1998) and in Alost (2005).

1985-2001

Since halfway the eighties, Strobbe has experienced a major reorientation. Diversification of the product gamma, including new calendars and multi-coloured envelop printing. The Druivelaar is at time already a well-know and popular almanac. More calendars for the B2B-market (promotional give-aways) are being offered and in the stores more and more calendars are being sold for the B2C-market.
Strobbe Ticket is an entirely new division that builds on the present knowledge of rotary offset printing and that fulfils a need from ticket users (museums, cinemas, theatres, sport events, amusement parks,...) towards highly secured and quality printed entry tickets with barcodes. Thermal paper tickets are gradually taking the upper hand and are at present more than 80 % of the total volume of tickets being printed at Strobbe.

1991

The construction of a new warehouse is finished in 1991. The warehouse offers approximately 2,000 pallet places and is equipped with loading and unloading quays.

2002

The Strobbe retail stores for office supplies bear the fruit from large Investments in name publicity to be better known for a larger public, investments in shop automation, in marketing and in e-commerce. They have become a well-know chain of office retail stores in Belgium. In 2002 all the stores are renamed: “Strobbe Buro-Centers”.

2003-2009

Strobbe continues its efforts of diversification. The decreasing volume of auto copy paper, listing paper and business forms is being countered by a large increase in ticket customers, in calendar volumes and more recently also in Laser A4, Direct & Transactional Mail printed products.
